There’s just darkness around me. Occasionally, I feel snow melting on my skin, invisible cold spots blooming on my body. Fleeting. I can’t tell if they’re real. I can hear someone laugh. The voice echoes and then vanishes, leaving only the darkness and this strange person I am without my past.
I taste blood in my mouth. I know I died, but I don’t remember how or where or why. There is this ‘me’ now, caught in this new existence,
and there’s a ‘me’ I lost. Someone I can only piece together from
my echoes as I wander.
I only know one thing: this darkness holds no answers.

Some people asked me what the book is about and I think the easy answer is: about a journey.
It's not a thriller, nor a romance, it's a story about people in a complex, foreign world, their problems and emotions. This is what I want to write about.
When I watch/read media, I can often tell the upcoming plot from a mile away, so I want to write about characters who are people, not cliches and I care less about which genre boxes my story checks.
(Which has it's problems because I still don't know ^^" and it probably would really help advertising and describing the Novella but ah well... can't have my cake and eat it I guess >_>)
And then I try to tell them a little about the world it is set in and the beginning of the story:
If you are born in the domain of Kheel, God under the Sheared Mountains, God of the Faye and the Fairies, you don't need to fear death. Your first life, clad in flesh is merely a prelude of what is to come. A new life awaits, elevated by Kheels power.
Because the few people lucky enough to be born under his patronage, get revived into a second life.
And so does the main character Jeo... but something went wrong.
He was too young to die, there is no trace of his family among the Faye and his memory isn't working right. The second life, which should have been a blessed new start, becomes a burden chaining him to a task he can't fullfill.
Will he escape and find out what happened? Or is the life he lead lost forever?
